MAISY - Drugs/Aids & Addiction Services - EPR

Compucorp Ltd in conjunction with the Drugs and Aids Service of the Eastern Regional Health Authority, Dublin/Ireland - have developed an advanced information system to manage and plan client care in this sensitive area.

Using high levels of security, MAISY manages each user by their service, location and their professional role; effectively delivering data dependant security.  This includes the complex management of cases where other professionals, clinics or services may treat the client and need varying levels of access to the notes.

MAISY incorporates ‘Data Dependant Security’ for access on a need to know basis.  This is derived from user service, location & Role.  The security layer is also effective in the Referrals process where cases are transferred between clinics/teams or services.

Security applies to all searches and even within the reporting module, allowing ad-hoc reporting within the constraints of the service.

Assessments

Whether used for Drugs & Aids Information, Addiction Services, Outreach Projects, Substance Misuse or Community Care, MAISY specifically allows detailed Assessment record to be captured for each Client. This includes Drug History, Medical History, Forensic, Physical, Risk and others beside.

Needle Exchange

MAISY provides an excellent facility to record details of contacts at Needle Exchange Clinics, allowing for reporting of effectiveness through contacts made within the community and the number of repeat visits.

Methadone Register

One benefit of having a MAISY system is the ability to computerise and effectively manage the Central Methadone Register.  This includes the entry process onto the list, thereafter individual Clients may be monitored and so measurement of treatments given, of progress, of encounters and outcomes become available.

Drug History

Whilst MAISY captures Client details it provides an opportunity for very detailed history to be recorded.  This history can form the basis of research and an audit into the effectiveness of particular treatments, and the effectiveness in reaching those with specific needs.

OUTREACH

Recording details of contacts made provides a means to evaluate and audit the effectiveness of a specific project. This information, if / when combined with the treatment programme details provides a powerful tool in measuring performance and in providing an improved and consistent service to the client.
