Digital Product Designer (Remote/Onsite)

About the role

Our mission is to enable digital transformation in organisations that deliver social good, regardless of their technical capability or financial resources. As a bootstrapped startup we have grown to over 40 in the team based solely on the quality of the work we produce.

We work with Charities across their digital stack helping organisations to rebuild their processes using flexible open source tools. We help organisations reimagine the way they work so they can focus on impact.

The Challenge

Lets face it - most open source tools are ugly... products developed by communities focus on whats essential, not what is elegant, and that means features and function is prioritised over form. We want to change that by taking our open source products and turning them into beautifully crafted user centric products, which people area addicted to use.

The Product - CiviHR:

Based on generous funding from the Zing foundation (http://zing.uk.com/), CiviHR is an ambitious project to develop a fully featured HR application designed for Non-Profit and Charitable organisations worldwide. It will be made freely available to them online.

More details on CiviHR can be found on the website here:

The role:

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced digital product designer to join the team and really help us take the design of CiviHR to the next level. We want to make CiviHR an application that is beautiful and immediately familiar so that people love to use it.

The new designer will set overall direction and provide direction to our mid level designers who are working on this and other projects, and also help us to develop a clear design and approval process.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable tackling user interface challenges relate to fluid design, working with design tools such as Sketch and prototyping tools such as Azure or Balsamiq, will have existing experience developing UI for complex applications and giving direction to more junior members of a team.

Skills:

Key skills we are looking for are:
